The McDonald’s Ordering Hack That Gets You More Bang for Your Buck – Latest Food News Update

If you haven’t noticed, fast food chains are upping their crispy fish sandwich games right now. Dairy Queen is currently offering a seasonal Wild Alaskan Fish Sandwich for a limited time, while Popeyes has its Flounder Fish Sandwich on the menu. Hardee’s and Carl’s Jr. have jumped into the fray with a Redhook Beer Battered Fish Sandwich. Why all these fish sandwiches now, you ask? They’re the fast food world’s answer for those who don’t eat meat on Fridays during Lent.

One of the most popular limited-time fish sandwiches that pops up this time of year is Burger King’s Fiery Fish Sandwich, a fan favorite that BK customers “Love, love, LOVE.” It’s so popular that Reddit has a Fiery Big Fish Appreciation thread for what is “definitely the best fast food fish sandwich” one Redditor has had in a while.

Someone on the BK fish sandwich appreciation thread went rogue and offered up an ordering hack that makes McDonald’s Filet-O-Fish a bit more filling—and we’re so glad for their tip.

What’s great about this ordering hack is that you can use it any time of the year since the Filet-O-Fish is a year-round item. It’s a simple hack that turns the Double Filet-O-Fish into an even heartier sandwich for a little more than $1.

“I’ll tell you a secret,” the helpful Redditor wrote. “The McDonalds app lets you order a double filet-o-fish sandwich, and add an additional filet for only $1.10.” The triple Filet-O-Fish has, in the Redditor’s opinion, “a much better fish to bread ratio.”

“That’s a whole lot of fish,” someone replied.

But if you’re super hungry, a whole lot of fish for just a little more money may be just what you need. Just keep in mind that if you want additional cheese, sauce, or other add-ons to make up for an extra piece of fish, you’ll have to pay for it.

Still, this ordering hack gives you a pretty good bang for your buck—on Fridays during Lent—or any day of the year, for that matter.
