About this tool
Estimate the volume and tonnage of asphalt for a drive, path or car park.
Volume = length × width × thickness. Tonnes = volume × density (compacted hot-mix asphalt ≈ 2.4 t/m³) × (1 + waste).
Formula: t = L·W·d·ρ·(1 + w)
Example: Length (m) = 20, Width (m) = 4, Thickness (cm) = 5, Density (t/m³) = 2.4, Extra for waste = 5 → Volume (m³) = 4, Asphalt needed (t) = 10.08.
Lengths in metres and thickness in centimetres. Ask your supplier for the exact mix density.

FAQ
How does the Asphalt Calculator work?
Volume = length × width × thickness. Tonnes = volume × density (compacted hot-mix asphalt ≈ 2.4 t/m³) × (1 + waste).
What should I keep in mind?
Lengths in metres and thickness in centimetres. Ask your supplier for the exact mix density.
