About this tool
See your balance after the study (grace) period and the monthly repayment afterwards.
During the grace period no payments are made and interest compounds monthly onto the balance: B = P(1 + r/12)^g. Repayment then uses the standard annuity payment on B.
Formula: B = P(1 + r/12)^g ; PMT = B·i·(1+i)^n / ((1+i)^n − 1)
Example: Loan amount = 30,000, Annual interest rate = 5, Grace period (months) = 6, Repayment term (years) = 10 → Balance when repayment starts = 30,757.86, Monthly payment = 326.23.
Programmes differ: some loans do not charge interest while studying or offer income-based plans. Set the grace period to 0 if repayment starts now.
