About this tool
Work out hours between two clock times, add or subtract durations, and find the end time of a task.
Clock times are converted to seconds after midnight; an end time earlier than the start means the shift crosses midnight. Break minutes are subtracted. Decimal hours = total minutes ÷ 60.
Formula: duration = end − start − break
Example: What do you want to calculate? = Hours between two times, End time = 17:30, Break (minutes) = 30 → Hours = 8, Minutes = 0.
Durations are limited to 24 hours for clock-time differences. Daylight-saving changes are not applied.
