Cut an exact start/end range out of an audio file, or delete one range in the middle, without re-recording anything.
Trimming is the everyday edit: a voice note with a long introduction, a song excerpt for a class, a recording that starts with a cough. Drag a region on the waveform or type the start and end times; both stay in sync, so the numbers you see are the cut you get. The preview plays the selection before anything is processed.
The engine cuts the file just outside your marks and keeps the samples untouched in the kept part. Choose MP3, M4A, WAV, OGG or FLAC; lossless formats keep the quality exactly at a larger size. Remove-selection mode deletes the marked range and joins what is left with `atrim` + `concat`, so the rest of the recording keeps its timing.
This is a cut tool, not a mixer. It does not change the level, remove noise or repair a damaged recording; Volume / Mute and Remove Silence exist for those jobs. Very short selections (under 0.1 s) are refused because they are almost always a mis-drag rather than an intentional edit.

The kept audio is re-encoded in the format you choose. Use WAV or FLAC to avoid a lossy step entirely.
Can I cut several ranges at once?
No. Make one cut per pass, or use Remove Silence to drop many pauses in one go.
Why was my selection refused?
It was shorter than 0.1 s, or it covered the whole file so nothing would remain.
Can I trim a video soundtrack?
Yes — MP4 and MOV are accepted, and the result is an audio file.
