Size caps, scans, and the order: delete pages, split, then compress — not the other way around.
Portals reject PDFs for size, for page count, or for a scan that is secretly a photo album. Do not start with Compress PDF if you can delete the extra pages first. A 40-page packet with two relevant sheets should be split or trimmed, then compressed if it is still heavy.
Camera scans compress worse than a Word export. If the file is already a digital PDF, gains may be small — that is normal. Always keep the original. Check readability on a phone: visa photos that turn to mud will get you a second trip to the scanner.
If compression is not enough, split by section and upload what the form actually asked for. Merge only after each piece is accepted. The 1CLIK PDF family is meant to be used in that order: delete / split / reorder → compress → merge if required — with files staying in the browser.
