About this tool
Straighten photos of documents: fix the tilt of a page shot at an angle and flatten curved book pages so the lines run straight.
First the photo is measured. The tool follows the lines of text across the page and estimates how much they bend. A page that is already flat only needs perspective correction, and the tool says so instead of distorting it.
Perspective correction maps the four corners of the page to a straight rectangle. Curved dewarping models each text line, fits the bend and moves the pixels back onto straight lines, with an intensity slider for gentle or strong curves. Colours, stamps and signatures are kept; an optional illumination step evens out shadows.
The before and after views use the same measurement, so you can see the curvature drop. When confidence is low, for example a page with few text lines, the tool falls back to perspective correction and tells you why.
Quick steps
- Choose a photo of a page.
- Read the measurement: flat or curved, and the confidence.
- Apply perspective correction or curved dewarp and adjust intensity.
- Compare before and after, then download JPG or PNG.
The photo is processed in your browser and is not uploaded to 1CLIK.
FAQ
Will this make text readable on a blurry photo?
No. Dewarping fixes geometry, not focus. Retake blurry photos with more light.
Why did it say the page is flat?
The measured bend was very small. Curved dewarping would only add distortion, so perspective correction is suggested.
Does it change colours?
No, unless you turn on illumination correction, which brightens shadowed areas evenly.
Should I use this before OCR?
Yes. Straight lines improve OCR in Table Extractor and the receipt extractor.
