Start here when the job is a paper page or a photo of text.

Document and scan tools turn a camera photo into a straighter page, or read the words on a picture. Use the scanner when you need a PDF of a form. Use image OCR when you need the words themselves, in Arabic or English. A scanned PDF that has no text layer needs the PDF OCR tool, and that tool does not write the words back into the file.

The file stays in the browser for these jobs. A blurry photo still makes a blurry scan. Crop the page, keep the light even, and read the result before you send it. These tools do not certify a signature or a government form.

If you only need a smaller photo, use Image and Photo. If the file is already a PDF and you need to merge or split it, use PDF.
