Color Tools

Use this group when the job is a color value, not a photograph.

Pick a color and read HEX, RGB, and HSL. Mix two colors when you need a step between them. Build shades when you need lighter and darker steps from one start. HEX and RGBA keeps the alpha channel, which the solid picker does not. The swatch is painted in the tab. The page does not save a brand palette and it does not identify a color from a printed guide.

Contrast still has to be checked on the real page. A hex code that looks fine on white can fail on a photo. These tools do not invent a palette with a model, and they do not fetch colors from the network. If the color is sitting inside a picture, use the photo color tools in Image and Photo and click the pixel you mean.

A shadow, a gradient rule, or a glass panel belongs in CSS and Design. Those pages copy CSS. This group copies color values.
