Use this group when you already have a PDF and you need to change the pages, not design a new document.
Merge joins files. Split and extract keep a range. Delete and reorder change which pages remain and in what order. Rotate and crop fix a scan that landed sideways or with a wide margin. Compress rebuilds pages as images, so the file gets smaller and the text layer can disappear. Read that note on the compress page before you use it on a file you still need to search.
Add text places one visible line. The page editor adds that line and one white box. The white box covers what you see. It does not remove the text underneath. Redact is the tool that burns a black box into the page so the covered words are not still selectable. Fill works only when the PDF already has form fields. Sign places an image. It is not a certificate signature.
If the PDF is only a scan and you need the words, go to Document and Scan. If you are starting from photos, make the PDF in Images to PDF first.
