About this tool
Calculate the compound annual growth rate between two values, or the internal rate of return of a series of cash flows.
CAGR = (end ÷ start)^(1/years) − 1. IRR is the rate where the net present value of all cash flows is zero; it is found by bisection.
Formula: CAGR = (V₁/V₀)^(1/t) − 1 · NPV(IRR) = 0
Example: What do you want to calculate? = CAGR between two values, Starting value = 10,000, Ending value = 19,500, Years = 5 → CAGR = 14.29%, Total return = 95%.
Enter IRR cash flows in order, one per period, starting with the (negative) investment. Flows that change sign many times can have more than one IRR.
Quick steps
- Enter your values — every field shows its unit.
- Press Calculate (or Try an example to see how it works).
- Read the results and copy them if you need them elsewhere.
The calculation runs in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to 1CLIK.
